Cons
  • ScanSnap Organizer v1.0 (needs to be desperately updated and revised)
I've been using the ScanSnap for about 3 weeks now and it's been a complete delight to use. I had a situation where over 100 historical newsletters from a special company I deal with needed to be digitally preserved, and until now, it's been such an obstacle because the newsletters are in color and double-sided, my flatbed scanner took way too much time. I also needed a way to quickly scan brief user manuals (also double-sided in most cases) included with some of the products I review, so readers can download the manuals. And finally, I had several documents lying around my desktop which needed to be scanned and stored. The ScanSnap became available for me to use and review so I figured I would put it to the test and find out if it could take care of my own desktop nightmares. Well, after using it for only a few days, I was extremely impressed with how it handled my documents.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

The only Con I noticed was ScanSnap Organizer v1.0. I simply couldn't let this go by my Review Radar without mentioning it, because I know Fujitsu's PFU Limited group can do a much better job at refining this program and making it something special. ScanSnap Manager works very well, and is highly customizable, which gets a big thumbs up from me. Cardminder works pretty well but could use another overhaul in the aesthetics department.

Scanning documents with the ScanSnap was so fun, I found myself scanning bills and my bank statements, and basically anything on a piece of paper. The ScanSnap is quite versatile, and can apply to so many situations, it can easily be used for much more than just a disciplined business environment. If you're looking for a super-fast, super-slim scanner with high-resolutions capable of scanning not only your documents but images as well, you have to give the Fujitsu ScanSnap a try.
