After the Nobel Peace Price was given to Al Gore only a few days ago, I couldn't help but drag out The Day After Tomorrow, curl up in a blanket with some popcorn, and expect the world to come to an end within a few hours. This particular edition is housed in Steelbook style, and if not for the nice packaging, I wouldn't have upgraded (for some reason I envision 20th Century Fox executives with wide grins on their faces...). The Day After Tomorrow did quite well at theaters, and I remember the touted special effects and trailers. It doesn't seem like it has been three and a half years since the initial release of this movie, but as you watch it, there is certainly a message, and while the message might seem a little extreme, it does make for an interesting few hours of theoretical possibilities.

Global Warming has been a hot topic (hmmm) over the years, and the rather violent debates and protests have spawned a lot of interest in the subject. The Day After Tomorrow appeared to satiate two types of crowds: the Global Warming Believer and the Special Effects Lover. Personally, I'm more of the latter, and Hollywood did a pretty good job at arousing my interest in the subject. Wherever one stands on the issue, The Day After Tomorrow is a fairly good movie to waste a few hours on.

This particular edition of The Day After Tomorrow has been packaged in a steelbook. The two discs have the same content as the previous 2-disc edition, so for those already owning the previous edition, the only reason to upgrade is, of course, because of the graphics and packaging type.

The Day After Tomorrow - 2-Disc Special Edition (Steelbook) does not contain any special or additional materials if purchased at particular retail stores. It is just a bare-bones Steelbook Edition.

Let's take a closer look at the packaging and what you get...
