One of the very few animated television series which stands out in my mind is The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes!. In case you haven't come across this series, it's absolutely fabulous and rich with content. The episodes are all connected, so don't expect to view a single episode and having nothing to do with the series (which is very common with a lot of animated shows these days).

As of the review date, I could only obtain the entire first season on Blu-ray from Amazon Canada. This isn't particularly an inexpensive series to purchase, but I can say it was well worth the addition to my collection, and will be of much benefit to yours. If you have any children, you'll have them entertained for hours, as this series gives not only action and adventure, but some interesting morality issues as well. In this series, things are not as crystal clear as many animated shorts would convey.
The PlotHIGHLY RECOMMENDED
The initial episodes of The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes! center on an Avenger character, giving a background to each character's profile. While we are introduced to each character such as Iron Man, Thor, The Hulk, Captain America, Antman, and others, S.H.I.E.L.D. (Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division) is introduced, and we get a good idea of who Nick Fury is.
Getting the first few episodes watched, you'll soon get the impression the series is leading up to something. And you'll be correct. In fact, the beginning of the first season flows into the second season, so get ready for some rather elaborate plots and twists as you progress through the series.
Once the Avengers become a somewhat cohesive unit to fight the foes which have become more aggressive (and have also escaped the three prisons which were under control of S.H.I.E.L.D.), they become aware of a major threat to Earth from a being who informs them Earth will face total annihilation. As events play out from episode to the next, you'll follow the Avengers as they learn this being is in fact telling the truth.
Packaging for The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes! (The Complete First Season) arrived in an Elite 2-Disc Blu-ray Eco-Case.
The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes! (The Complete First Season) looks great and the colors really pop. While the bitrates might seem low, for animated titles, this isn't a problem. In fact, I typically see bitrates of around 10-15Mbps for animated features.
Audio for this season sounds good, and is bold and clear.

The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes! (The Complete First Season) instantly became one of my most cherished animated series. It's full of plot twists and story arcs which make a series valuable and memorable. What's really nice about TA:EMH is even though the episodes are only around 23-minutes in length, they are not exclusive of other episodes, so you feel like you're watching a much more in-depth feature.
I was a little surprised to see there are no extras at all. Unless you call a French 2.0 audio track an extra, there is absolutely nothing else on the discs. I would have liked to see a featurette on the people behind the voices, and the process of making such an interesting series.
With graphics that sparkle and pop, and a storyline which kept me interested for the entire series, The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes! (The Complete First Season) (Blu-ray) gets a HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
I've already watched the second season of this series, so stay tuned for a review of it. And yes, it's just as good.
