Hanover, Germany (March 9, 2006) Pretec Electronics Corp., the creator of i-Disk Tiny & i-Disk Diamond, the smallest USB Flash Drive in the world since 2003, will debut a new USB 2.0 flash drive, i-Disk Mobile with mobile phone bridge and charger functions today at CeBIT 2006 (Hall 23, Booth D30) in Hanover.
In addition to a USB 2.0 flash drive itself, i-Disk Mobile can charge/re-charge the mobile phone directly through the USB port of any PC. What is more, Pretec i-Disk Mobile acts as a perfect data transferring bridge between the mobile phone and PC/notebook, users can upload, download or Sync the data of Phone Book, Short Message and phone call records from mobile phone to PC (or vice versa), so that backup and management of important data stored inside a mobile phone or smart phone becomes extremely easy, yet with an affordable manner to mobile users.
Unlike other USB mobile phone bridge product recently announced, i-Disk Mobile has no switches or buttons on the flash drive, all data management functions are handled through mobile phone keys/buttons, so the incremental cost is low compared with alternative solution which requires expensive tooling to add switches or buttons on the flash drive. i-Disk Mobile is sampling now and currently support Nokia and Sony Ericsson mobile phones with matching connector and firmware. New versions with different firmware and connector will be offered in the future to support different mobile phones such as Motorola, Samsung, Benq/Siemens, LG, ASUS, OKWAP, etc.
Pretec provides a series of multi-function USB flash products in addition to i-Disk Mobile. Also exhibited in the show are e-Disk II Plus (USB flash disk+ card reader), i-Disk Connect (USB flash disk+ modular expansion of USB devices), i-Disk Combo (USB Flash disk + IO such as Bluetooth, Wireless LAN), i-Disk Laser (USB flash disk+ Laser pointer), i-Disk Bright (USB flash disk+ LED flash light), i-Disk Control (USB flash disk+ remote control), etc. at Pretec booth.
