PNY Technologies Gives CompactFlash and Secure Digital Memory Cards a Speed Boost

February 24, 2006

Orlando, Florida (February 24, 2006) Announced today at PMA 2006 (Booth # 4667), PNY Technologies, Inc. introduced several, new higher-speed, higher-capacity digital storage solutions. The company's new 60X Optima CompactFlash (CF) cards and 60X Optima Secure Digital (SD) memory cards can now capture, transfer and store data at a minimum sustained write speed of up to 9MB(a) per second, and read speed of 10MB per second (66x) while its Optima Pro SD cards are capable of a write speed up to 20MB(a) per second (133x).

"Our new Optima memory cards enable images to read and write faster, so photographers can quickly capture and view that 'can't miss' shot," said Darshan Rauniyar, product manager, flash media, for PNY Technologies. "As many of the newest digital cameras come equipped with video capture, photographers require a high-density, high-speed card. Also, faster write speeds are particularly important to maximize the potential of the latest high-end, digital SLR cameras." Darshan added, "Timing is critical, so no shots are missed."

PNY Technologies' high-speed Optima CF and Optima SD cards will be available in 512MB, 1GB and 2GB in Q1 2006 from specialty camera retailers and e-tailers. PNY Optima Pro SD cards will be available in Q2 2006 from specialty camera stores. Available in 1GB and 2GB storage capacities, both Optima and Optima Pro come with a lifetime warranty.
