Introduction

This review is of the Clive Barker Legacy Bonus Disc, which is only available from the Hellraiser Scarlet Box. The Clive Barker Legacy Bonus Disc adds about 3 hours of additional extras. There's a collection of material spanning more than just the first 3 movies, and many different comments by various characters who have been in the sequels after Hellraiser 3.

In case you haven't noticed, the review of this disc is somewhat short in description, and it's more of an overview of what you'll be getting. If you're a Hellraiser fan, you probably have seen these extras. If you have not, and you simply cannot find The Scarlet Box available at a price you can afford, I highly recommend purchasing the Leviathon DVD, which contains the original 9-hour documentary across 3 DVDs. It's not available on Blu-ray, but it's still worth it. I'm not sure how long this will be available, but be certain once it goes OOP, you'll be paying a hefty price for it. Currently, it is only around $23 USD shipped to the US.

Audio for the bonus disc is all encoded at 192Kbps. It sounds pretty good, and since we're dealing with interview material, it's not necessary to hear Doug Bradley in 5.1 surround (although I'm sure some of you wouldn't mind that!). Overall, I'm ok with the audio and I didn't have any issues understanding the various discussions.

Conclusion

The fourth and final disc of The Scarlet Box from Arrow gives even more extras and insights into the Hellraiser series.

Having an additional 3 hours or so of material you will find very challenging to see anywhere else, along with the convenience of having it in this package Clive Barker Legacy disc, from the Hellraiser Scarlet Box Edition (Blu-Ray) from Arrow Video, receives a HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Take Note

For those who are looking for Arrow Video's Hellraiser Trilogy set, you can still own the three movies in a very nice package, but without the extra disc and 200-page book. Even this set is probably going to be out of print eventually, and it is a very fine collection I must say, so if you're looking for a definitive collection of the first three Hellraiser films, this would be the set to obtain. Unlike the Scarlet Box, with the "affordable" trilogy, each movie is in its own European clear thick Blu-ray case, and the artwork on each cover is really great. If this set does indeed sell out, the three films will be sold individually. But this is just a guess, due to the type of individual cases and covers that are in this set.
