8:25pm Tonight I'm going to the gym. My legs are surprisingly feeling "antsy" to move around so I'll oblige them and do about 40mins on the upright bike and Stairmaster.

9:47pm Recovery drink #2 was made tonight. My body just craves this stuff. I made it without a small bag of almonds and an apple, which is a testament to the recovery drink doing its job when used over an extended period of time. However, I still need something to replenish energy used during the adventure.
3:00pm Seems like I was pretty accurate in estimating my comeback. I went as far as I've ever gone, and I was out for around 4 hours. Departed at 10am and came back just after 2pm. I did NOT take anything to eat at the halfway mark, and so by the time I got back home...I was rather exhausted. I immediately mixed up a recovery drink. I will more than likely make another drink later tonight.
Almost forgot. I had a weird squirrel give me the craziest look today. The entire time I was outside it was raining steady, so I probably gained 5lbs of water soaked into my clothes. I was jogging towards this squirrel who had a nut in his (her?) mouth and was just standing on the sidewalk.
It didn't move.
I couldn't really move either because there was a huge pool of water and leaves on either side and I really didn't want to get my feet soaked more than what they already were (not to mention I didn't want to slip and slide). So, I played chicken with the squirrel. He finally moved out of the way at the last minute but gave me a hard stare. Like he was saying, I have to be out in this weather, sir, but you don't. What gives. Scared the crap outta me...and I picked up my pace a little more because for a few seconds I thought I could actually be chased a few blocks.

7:10pm Did absolutely nothing today because I'm going for it all tomorrow morning. Not to mention, work tends to drain a person. I'm sure you all know what that's like.
November 24, 2009; Tuesday
11:25pm Didn't do anything tonight. I'm rather tired. I'd like to say I was assaulted by rogue squirrels who tried to carry me away...but I can't. I didn't go anywhere tonight.
November 23, 2009; Monday
Gym for 2 hours.
November 22, 2009; Sunday
5:00pm I did 202mins this early afternoon and went way past the 925 I was anticipating. This will introduce a new marker I've been doing, and I'll call it the 1400. It was 14 miles round trip, and was just about the furthest I've been before my wonderful Ankle Adventure. I figure I jogged about 9 miles and walked the rest. I am damn sore. My chest was really sore from last night but that pain went away and moved into my legs and parts of my forearms and triceps (from moving back and forth so much). I didn't hesitate to make an Endurox R4 shake which consisted of the following that tastes rather good:
2.5 scoops of Endurox R4 Tangy Orange flavor
About 5oz of 2% milk
About 3oz of fresh Orange Juice
About 5oz of Peach yogurt (could be blended or whatever)
This particular recipe is ending up being very good, and when put in the freezer for about 20mins, is even better. Ice cubes could be added to quicken the frozen texture.

2:00am Well, I was just as tired as hell and woke up around 11pm. I got to the gym around 11:45 and stayed there till about 2:00am. It was kind of nice being the only person there and maybe a handful of others at certain times. I did a lot more reps on my chest and I can feel it. I'll probably feel it tomorrow even more.
2:40pm Unfortunately this morning I needed to complete a work-related event which lasted from 9:00am to noon. I'm glad I took this course however, but it ruined any kind of anticipated run I wanted to do this morning. I wanted to do something this afternoon but just didn't feel like it as I prefer mornings, so I'll workout at the gym tonight.
November 20, 2009; Friday
1:00am 2.5 hours at the gym tonight and I'm pretty well spent.
6:47pm The weather is providing me with continuous rain, and in 40-something degree weather, that just sucks for being outside. Not that I'd be jogging tonight anyway, as I plan on doing something tomorrow anyway. Maybe another 925 tomorrow like I did last night, weather permitting.
Tonight is gym night. I think the Endurox R4 is helping my comeback and recovery.
November 19, 2009; Thursday
1:34am Tonight I did a 925 and I feel pretty good. I did this at night, without stumbling and limping back home, so I'm proud of myself, thanks. My ankle is still not at full potential and I think my estimate of Thanksgiving weekend being the time for the return of the longer runs, to be a reliable estimate. I may try a longer run this weekend, but I'm not anticipating anything successful. Springing off my right ankle is still unreliable for the most part.
Yesterday I recieved the Endurox R4 Tangy Orange (4.63lbs) I ordered a few days ago. Some people comment it tastes like Tang but I can't taste it. What I discovered that is just DELISH, is using 2% milk with four ice cubes, and then adding a little of orange juice (fresh squeezed) with the powder. It tastes just like those Orange Julius drinks I used to get at the local mall. And I have to say, it's much much better tasting than the "fruit punch" R4 I have. If you like the taste of Pepto-Bismol, then great. But otherwise, get the orange flavor. What's also a nice treat, is once you blend the ingredients above for about 5 minutes, then put the mixture into the freezer for about 15mins...you get orange creamsicle-like ice cream. Much less fat than ice cream, and no HFCS or Tara Gum.

Tonight I did another 2 hours at the gym. I'm doing a 25-15-25 on the upright bicycle and Stairmaster, which ends up being just over one hour of intense cardio. This is conditioning my legs and I can already feel my gate getting stronger. Bench pressing is doing surprisingly well. I'm already up to doing 80lbs along with the 45lbs of the bar itself. I'm not particularly concerned with bulking up, as much as I'm trying to do sets with longer reps. Initially, it was difficult just pressing 25lbs on each side, but I can do 35lbs on each side and another 5lbs to max out. It won't be too hard getting up to pressing 150lbs or more, but I'm still hesitant on adding a lot of weight in a short period of time. Considering I'm using recovery protein supplements, I don't want to gain extra weight on my chest too quickly.
November 17, 2009; Tuesday
I was about to go for a 925 but decided to just take the day off. My ankle is getting better but is still sore and needs to be repetitiously stretched.
November 16, 2009; Monday
Tonight was 2 hours at the gym.
November 15, 2009; Sunday
9:25pm I was going to try a few hours at the gym tonight but this just isn't happening. I'm going to let myself take an extra break. I figure I'll be back with it by Thanksgiving with shorter runs leading up to it. Last night's gym workout along with today's exercise pretty much drained me.
11:38am I did pretty well this morning, although I could certainly feel muscles, tendons, and ligaments being stretched a little beyond normal in my ankle, so I didn't go too fast, but just kept a steady pace. I wanted to go over the St. John's Bridge, but decided to hold myself back and stick to the 925 and jogging about 6 miles of it. Good thing I did, as I'm not too sore at the moment, but I feel tired and I would have pushed myself too far if I went over the bridge. I made an Endurox R4 shake with a little 2% milk, and I have to say, I think this stuff works. Expensive, but works. I'm not as tired for such a long time like I was before, and I don't feel as much throbbing pain in my legs and body like I did before. What's going on, is just after an extended jog and walk, the body immediately finds as much resources as possible to replentish used energy. The best place to find such resource...is muscle, and not necessarily fat. What this recovery supplement does, is prevent the body from taking such a massive bite out of its own self.
8:10am It's darn cold out. 43°F. I was going to do something yesterday but decided not to. This morning, I'm going to try and do a 925 walk.
November 14, 2009; Saturday
Today I didn't do anything to strain my ankle. However, I did wash my car. Washing it in 40-something degree weather was interesting. In the summer time, everyone would be shining their cars and radios-a-hootin' but today...pure silence. Only the birds were hootin' and it was quite pleasant.
Tonight I did 2 hours at the gym and started doing a new exercise which involves the lower back muscles. It's a Nautilus "Low Back" machine, and is quite fun to use. I did the usual upright bicycle for 25mins and the Stairmaster for 15mins. I was going to do the bicycle for another 25mins but figured I'd save my energy for tomorrow. It really is amazing how time flies when you're in the gym.
