Are you into conspiracy theories? Maybe the 1D Mark II is not real and the photos we have seen are all fake. Canon may have released this information just to slow sales at Nikon and is having its people post in the forums. I have it from a reliable source that...

Hey Warp,
Well, apparently eCost is also PCMall, MacMall, and even a few other stores, and I've been hearing a consistent date of postponement. The last time it was May 28, and then the latest I was told they weren't sure at all. I ordered that sucker March 19th, and they still can't tell me where I approximately am on the order list? I'm just not going to put faith in them when something is actually needed. My E-10 purchase went ok with them, but that was 4 months after the E-10 was released. eCost's inventory is pretty accurate when something is in stock and I have ordered other stuff from them before, so I'm still staying with them for some other purchases.
For something like the 1D MK II however, I should have gone through B&H. Live and learn I guess.
In any case, I'm just sitting back and waiting patiently. It's probably better I (and you?) get a later manufactured MK II anyway, since there are a few quirks in it, in addition to EVU and DPP.
