Received the 70-200L 2.8 IS USM today

This lens sure feels different than my AF-S 80-200mm. Wish it came with a nice Aristocratic Hard Case like my Nikon did, but I will probably use the soft case which came with the 70-200 more anyway.

The lens hood seems more "cheap" than the HB-17 hood which comes with the 80-200. I was hoping for better due to the price of the lens. Cheap bastards.

Overall feel of the lens seems "smaller" than the AF-S 80-200.

I'm jealous.

I've been extremely happy with my 70-200mm 4.0/L since I got it, and have used it for everything from Portraits to nature shots. It's very sharp, and fast with the focus on my 10D.

As for bags. I tried to keep mine in it's bag for a while, but got tired of having to constantly remove it, so it just floats around in my camera bag. (I need to get a back pack I think)

Congratulations. Now all you need is that 1D Mark II to put it on!

So how well did it come pack from KEH.com?

It was packed in peanut foam (or it was those "air-paks" which do the same thing). The 50mm f/1.4 USM was packed the same way. I don't have any complaints. I'll be buying my lenses from KEH from now on I think.

Thanks for reminding me Tony, because I have a $50 rebate from Canon that should be here by now.
