Some kind of fungus I don't want !! ???

Actually I think is paint stripping. (PAINT STRIPPING is that allowed ... oh yeah this is photo x ;{)

Interesting texture anyway.

Lichen. Not sure what kind though.

Looks kinda like Xanthoparmelia mexicana .

I think that is right. I was going to say that it was the bark of a tree, but your right, it's lichen growing on the bark. I don't know what type. Would Xanthoparmelia mexican survive in connecticut?

Well actually I did not think it was Xant. but did look like it. It is a Foliose leafy type of lichen but I do not know which kind it is specifically.

Funny, Frank, in my first photo class we made pinhole cameras out of old square tea cans, and the first shot I took with it was of a urinal in the boys bathroom. The teacher said he didn't think it was "appropriate".
