Look Ma - Photos of Models!

I had the pleasure of teaching at the PhotogShootout that was held in DE a few weeks ago. I didn't get to shoot much while teaching, but what I did shoot turned out pretty well so I thought I'd share a few photos. All made with D700 and 70-200VR. I thought I'd see if I could push Lightroom a bit so note that these images are all processed though Lightroom 2.4 and no further Photoshop manipulation.

Number 2 is my favorite. But when talking about your photos, it's like choosing which pizza is my favorite, they're all good, some just stand out from the rest. :)

On another note, do I see 3 catch lights in her eyes in Number 1?

All of these were shot in the tunnel you can see in the 3rd photo. The three catchlights are actually just one big catch light (the tunnel entrance) with my students and a big tree across the center to break it up. See below...





The theme for my sessions was direction light (even in the shade) and remote speedlights. Every so often during the shootout they would rotate over a new group of students and a new model. I enjoyed throwing everyone off by making them shoot with the harsh light at the model's back most of the time. People really are stuck with the "sun at your back" mentality so it was great to help them see other ways of using light.
