Spot heal uses the pixels around the area to be fixed so you don't have to sample every time you want to fix a little piece of dust. Makes healing go by much quicker. I didn't try it right on the edge of a photo yet, but I was pretty close and it worked better than the Heal tool in CS did.

I can now say I used the spot heal on the very edge of a photo and it did NOT bleed around the edges. It worked perfectly.

I never realized how cool the spot heal tool is until I started teching my Photoshop Elements 3 class. They introduced that, the patch tool , and the new red-eye brish there. It's amazing.

I used the vanishing point clone tool on the sample image a dozen times now - which amazingly, you can set to also "heal" while it clones
