Help - how to get rid of color aberration edging

I'm working on a photo from a Sony F828.

It has some purple aberration edging around the highlight to dark transitions.

I've tried the color dropper , hue and saturation approach,
I've tried the color range selection, hue and saturation approach,
I've tried the color range selection, curves approach,

Each get part way there but none seem to get rid of it , SO
I'm tossing out the challenge to the Adobe guru's in the Digi ....

Anyone got a method that works?

If you email me the image or post a portion of it, I can give a few things a try. This sounds like it is chromatic abberations, it looks like a purple fringe around contrasty edges, right? Was the image shot RAW, or JPG? If it is RAW, use Photoshop CS to open it and go to the Lens tab and adjust the Chromatic Abberation sliders. Be sure to zoom into the image 100% or more to be able to see the effects of the sliders.

Here is a method of getting rid of color noise and aliasing, not sure how well this will work for chromatic abberations though.

With the photo open in Photoshop, go to Filter, Blur, Gaussian Blur. Drag the Radius slider left until the color abberations are blurred out, click OK. Next go to Edit, and choose Fade Gaussian Blur. In the Fade dialog choose Color for the mode. Any better?

Without seeing your image, I'm not sure this method will work or not, but it is a good trick to know anyways!

No attachments for forum email at this time. Too much potential for code attacks. I have been looking at this though. Some of the latest PHP attacks involved exploiting add-on code (mods) to php forums and attachments was one of them. Kinda sucks.
