Got a Job

Postby JoePhoto » Jan Wed 09, 2008 2:55 pm

Well folks - a new direction is emerging. I was offered an assignment job for a local magazine catering the more affluent residents of the area called Signature Brandywine. While I haven't received an assignment yet, this is something that I've been talking with the wife about alot... not leaving all our eggs in just one basket in terms of shootings just weddings/portraits. I'm hoping this will lead to more commercial jobs and eventually, a new direction.

This is great news Joe!

I wish you the best of luck with the new venture it sounds very exciting.
I'm venturing into Wedding shoots myself with two other photographer friends this will be a whole new area for me. I'm used to shooting nature shots not people but I like a challenge and this will definitely be one for me.

Keeps us posted as things unfold!

Have a great day.....

Congrats Joe, I know you will do very well. Just don't drink any wine until after the shoot! ;)

Thanks for the well wishes.

This is an exciting week for me. I met with another fellow who runs a printing and seminar business and we're going to take my Photoshop classes on the road to large local corporations as well. I plan on starting an education blog to boot.

I'm very excited about the prospect of doing more diversified work.

Randy - as always, if I can be of service getting your wedding business running, please don't hesitate to ask.

The best to you all on your "new ventures" its alway fun to branch out. Me? well I am trying to slow down. After 35+ years of photo'n weddings I think it is time to retire...one a month over the summer would be just fine. I do write a weekly column column for a small northern newspaper. (on line: barriere star journal) and next month will be traveling to some out of the way towns here in British Columbia to instruct some digital courses. But I really am trying to slow way down. So.. I will have much more energy to read about how well you, Joe and Randy are doing.

Sounds like a good idea, Joe. We need more solid, educated, and experienced teachers in this area.
