Windmill and Sky

Here's a shot from New Mexico (I think) that I've always thought the original was interesting but a bit plain. I spent some time playing with it in the last few days and have come up with this, an aged, hand colored look. I'm planning on doing this effect to some other images so would like to hear your thoughts as to if it works or doesn't.

hey Matt,

I know this is an older post so forgive me for posting late. I haven't had alot of time lately to get in here and kick the tires and check the oil. I have been traveling extensively with my wife as she goes from assignment to assignment. The only one I didn't go on with her was the last one when she went to Mississippi and Tennessee. So since I have a short break I have been going through the posts trying to play catch up.

I like this technique very much and you did an excellent job achieving the aged painted look.
You couldn't have picked a better subject either, I love old windmills. I'd love to see you try this on the old standards, ( Old barns, Broken Down Buckboard, Old Rusty Car in Field )....ect...ect.

Keep posting these if you would, I'd love to see what you come up with.

Nice work Matt. My suggestions would be to reduce the blue a bit and actually soften the image up a bit to complete the aged look.
