This is across the bay from my area, couple of miles I think. I'm hoping it's mostly steam, as there was some chill in the air today.

Shot using the 400, with 2x Quantaray extender, and with the 1.6 FOV crop, makes this about 1280mm. Yep, I used my tripod.
Autolevels, and resized.

Oh and here's the pre-levels shot... kinda hazy, and I don't have any filters for the new lens just yet.

Auto levels really helped out this shot too! Now that you have 1280mm to play with you'll have to shoot the moon again! Maybe tonight?

You've read my mind.

I've been out on the porch every night that we've had clear skies. So far no moon, and even Matt is too far for this lens. ;o)

But you can bet the first night I see it!
