Okay folks,

How's about we kick this cow and see what kind of milk we can get.

Here's your first Challenge for 2005!

" Textures with existing light. "

This should be challenging enough, without having to need " all the gear ".

Let's set the conditions now.

Take all month to get your shots, but don't submit until Jan. 29th.

Let's also keep it to your 3 best images, posted as close to 640x480 as possible, for those with slower connections.

If you like you can post what you did to get the shot, including exif data, but it's not required.

Use any camera you have. Film, digital, it doesn't matter. We're not about the gear here, but about the image we get with what we got.

Remember, this is not a competition, or contest. It's a Challenge to you, to see how you can get the shot.

Question / thoughts on posting. It would be nice if we could all post in the same place, to keep things organized, but if we all posted in the same thread that could get a bit heavy on download size. JB, is there anyway to make a subforum (subfolder-ish) within the Photo Challenge forum? That way we could keep the main forum for general Challenge info, and have the subforum for each challenge, where we would post our results in seperate threads. So each participant from the January challenge will post in their own thread, inside the January challenge subforum, and each thread would only have that participants images. Anyone could then comment on those images. And sticky the subforums so they always stay at the top of the Photo Challenge forum.

So the hiearchy would looks something like this...

Photo Challenge 2005 (main forum)
.. January: Textures with Existing Light (sticky subforum)
.... Matt's texture photos (subforum thread)
.... Vance's better texture photos (subforum thread)
.... Joe's smokin' hot female texture photos (subforum thread)
.Is everyone ready?? (main forum thread)
.Question for all DD... (main forum thread)

Is that possible? Did that make sense? Am I getting too organized? I tend to do that sometimes. Just trying to make it easier for us a year from now when we have a ton of these challenges to keep track of.

I was thinking the same thing Vance. Except I have a close0up filter set. Hey, my 70-300G is the same thread size, wonder how well that might work. Soemthign else to try out.
