I was cruising the net looking at lens review sites, and happened on a 20D review. On it is a table with different cameras and their pixel sizes. Kind of hard to believe, but the Sony f828 has a 2.7 micron pixel size. No wonder the damn thing has so much noise.

Yeah, the Sony 828 has about the same pixel size as the E-10.

How is that possible when they both have 2/3 sensors but one has twice the number of pixels?

It's a DSLR table... of course the E-10 wouldn't be on there let alone the Sony

Yeah, the E-10 is what, 3.9 microns or something? I need to lay off the late-nighters.

What I have to wonder, is IF the 828's imager was a 2/3" CMOS imager. I reported during Photokina about OmniVision and their 5MP 2.775 micron CMOS sensor. Should be interesting for what and on what camera it's used.
