Well Joe it's been almost 2 months. We're all dying to know what ya got.
Thanks to you talking about it my interest got stirred up again. LOL Been 30 yrs or so since I've been on a bike. But since I'm an old coot I went with a mellower style bike.. All set to put my camera gear in the bags and head towards the mountains or coast. Kawasaki Vulcan 900 LT End of yr sale can't be beat. Should be picking it up in a few days. Going to enjoy 50 mpg
Now I just gotta order a cup holder for it. hehe

Oh ya like all the others said. Helmet, ear plugs etc. important. I crashed once in mid 60's It's something you don't forget. No major injuries but underwear changed colors.

Speaking of which, did anybody see the movie "Wild Hogs" starring Tim Allen, John Travolta, & a couple others who's names escape me at the moment?
Makes me want to get a bike and go on a road trip again. :clown

Saw the trailer but not the movie. Been reading lots of us Boomers are getting bikes. Big surge in sales from us. I figure it's the last hurrah before retirement. Less than two yrs away and this will be cheap transportation to neat shooting locations when I have more time. hehe

Sweet ride Warren! I'm officially jealous. You need to post some photos when you get it.

Right now I'm holding off until after January. We need to see how our winter funds shake out and adding a baby and a third vehicle payment in the same off season (Dec - March) will be rough. Most likely I'll go with a used 2007 Sportster 1200 unless I can swing a Street Bob (denim black & chrome).

I did start buying my leather though - got a nice jacket.

Thanks Joe. That's what happens when you become an ole' dog. Done with the kids, weddings, college etc. It was a long haul. I was going to wait till spring also but Kawasaki had a great 0 down $99 month for two years on this bike. Payments go up of course after 2 years but more than likely I'll pay it off one way or the other. Also being end of season and new bikes coming out the deals out there are crazy. That puppy fully dressed the way you see it. 4 miles on it for a check out ride by dealer was $8,000 plus a 2 year warranty. Looked at another Vulcan 900 classic. The regular one not dressed and they dropped those prices down to $6500. No prep fees, shipping etc that they usually tack on. That's usually another $800 they sock you with. You should check out the Vulcan Mean streak 1600cc http://www.kawasaki.com/Products/Detail.aspx?id=210
Image Listing for $11,099 but I've seen a bunch of the bigger bikes with like $2,000 off list or $1 over invoice right now. Tough choice really. A lot of great bikes out there. Neighbor of mine has a 1200 sportster. Neat bike. Sooo many bikes soooo little money. LOL
Here's the spec's on mine. I like the bigger tire in back.

There's a Kawasaki dealer not too far from me. I'll have to check out the Mean Streak - that's a sweet looking bike and one would have to be a fool to not seriously consider it at those prices.

I just read darn near 30 reviews on the Vulcan 1600 Mean Streak and all of them were glowing. I'm going to go check this thing out next week!

That black & red is stunning!

Thanks Warren
